Timetabling - E2

This week I had a maths test. Additionally, this week was the last week of school and I wanted to take it a little more easy. As I had everything prepared to complete my output already I thought I would make my week a lot  lighter then usual. Furthermore, although I timetabled AIF HW for each night, I decided that if I completed my progress check I would take the rest of the week off (apart from weekly journalling). However, I made sure I still did some minor dog training, however it was all informal (not recorded) as I wanted to just enjoy the time I was spending with my dog as I felt that she had accomplished a lot over the term.

Progress Check

Reviewing my Voice Memo Transcript Strategy - E2

When conducting the progress check with my teacher I ensured that I recorded the audio like in the first progress check. This made the process of writing the progress check quite efficient as whilst I did remember what was said in the progress check, the exact details were clearer when I listened to the audio recording.

The process in which I used the audio recording was similar to how I write notes on my journals. When I recorded I used the app called "Voice Memos". This allowed for a transcript of the audio recording to be written automatically. I then copied this over into a word document which allowed me to skim read the transcript whenever I needed it. I think by having a transcript it made my process of writing the progress check a lot faster as I didn't need to constantly rewind the audio.

Furthermore, with progress check two I made sure to include the feedback I received from the first progress check draft. For example, using images to help convey my message better and give the reader a better understanding of what I'm talking about.

One thing I think I struggled with however was keeping the progress check below the word count that I set for myself (roughly 1200 as we had 1 smaller progress check in the following term). I think for the final progress check I will work on drafting what I am going to write first and setting smaller word goals for each section. Hopefully this will help me remain concise in all sections of my progress check to help me stay within the set word count of 1500 words.

Reviewing the Progress Check - PA1, E3

In the progress check my AIF teacher and I discussed a variety of things. The main thing we talked about was my progression towards the deadlines in the next term and whether or not I was able to complete my output in time. This was quite helpful as I did an output revision the previous week and was able to update her with what I had done - e.g. planned for what I need to make the video.

After further discussion I realised that I should introduce my learning goal at the start of the learning output (similar to how I started the progress check write up) so that it would put into perspective how the learning output demonstrates progress towards my learning goal.

This discussion about the learning output drove me to further build my knowledge of what was required for the learning output I decided to ask my friends what they were doing. This enabled me to understand that the learning output was less about the journey (as my peers mainly said that they would do the final thing they made or final achievement) such as including strategies and more about just demonstrating the progress. I think this was helpful as I was able to have a better picture in my mind of what I wanted to do going into the holidays.

JOURNAL ENTRY WEEK 11

Week 11Journal
00:00 / 01:05
SUMMARY OF JOURNAL ENTRY - E1, E2

This week I didn't complete that much as I was quite busy. However, I did manage to complete my progress check write up.

- Have developed in the sense that writing from audio recordings has become quite natural

- Feeling prepared to complete output in the holidays

As said in Week 10, in the holidays I will complete my AIF output.
